Parent Coffee and MakerSpace Grand Opening – Portola Valley (Sylvia)

Author and creator Sylvia Martinez will host a parent coffee at Ormondale School on Monday, September 28th.

Sylvia is the author of Invent to Learn: Making, Tinkering and Engineering in the Classroom. As a former engineer, she writes and speaks around the world for authentic learning, often with a focus on technology and engineering.

From the use of 3D printers to designing pianos made out of bananas, Sylvia’s presentations share why MakerSpaces have a place in today’s schools and how they tie to other initiatives, such as Project Based Learning.
